Happiness is defined as a pleasant feeling of contentment. Everyone desires and deserves happiness.

It can be found anywhere, at any time, and is typically influenced by circumstances; but it can also be fleeting. Many people have all of the things that should cause them to be happy, yet they are still miserable.

So, can you find happiness? Of course not.

It is not something you finds as though it was hiding under a bush or lost somewhere. It is a state of mind, not a buried treasure.

Plenty of people have very little to attribute to the fact that they are truly happy. So how did they arrive at this cheerful and content state of being?

They have decided to be happy by accepting their circumstances and embracing the things in life that are important and common to all people.

Happiness is a matter of choice, not discovery.

My neighbors of over twenty years passed away but they were tenents from hell. His home was bought by a young couple. They worked for months updating the house. I had started a speaking acquaintance with them and was let to know that they intended to rent the home once updated. I cautioned them about renting to people who might not care about leaving the property as they found it. My cautions fell on deaf ears. Soon a boisterous, loud, intimidating family moved in. There daughter was about 350 pounds. She stood at the back door and yelled and screamed before going in. The wife caught me taking out my trash and began screaming, “thief,” “thief.” The husband drove an overly used truck of unknown vintage. They littered the back yard with grills that couldn’t possibly hold coals. The interior of the house was also treated to their kind attentions. The drapes were torn down and what appeared to be paper mache streamers were attached. The front door has a life size poster of a football player and they won’t move.

Kim Jong-il, Stalin, Hitler, Julius Caesar, Napoleon, Mao Zedong and other world dictators have occupied our minds and left their marks on history like scars. They fascinate us and horrify us. They are the rulers we love to hate. For the people they have ruled they have meant a mixture of “big brother” type security and absolute terror.

There is something so unique about one human holding absolute power over a nation or empire that captures our attention. To err is to be human and when one human controls everything a personal mistake becomes a world tragedy. Entire populations are exterminated, wars are waged, freedoms are torn away.

But dictators come to power through hope and fear. The people hope they will cut through politics and simply enact what the people want. But there is no room for compromise. By definition dictatorships result in massive horror. Yet we are fascinated.

Music is one of the most powerful medicines available to the human soul. Music allows a person to express their deepest emotions and to reach a deeper understanding of their soul. Music can heal wounds, ease pain, or provide a delightful distraction.

The power of music can soothe a baby to sleep, to bring people together and unite them and to provide a soundtrack for life.

Music means many things to many people. Some see it as a form of release. It is a way to communicate things that are not easily said. It is a way to connect to the past and the future.

Music is a gift for the soul. It can unite mankind, it can illustrate a common ground. It can provide comfort and reassurance. Music is a gift that can withstand the test of time.

One of the world’s most famous artists remembered is Leonardo da Vinci. This Italian painter who is considered to be one of the greatest painters of time, excelled in physiology, the sciences and mathematics, and applied his knowledge to his art of some of the most well known paintings. One of these paintings is the portrait of Mona Lisa dressed in the Florentine fashion with her expression, which has given the portrait universal fame. The famous image in Western art known as The Last Supper, was also created by da Vinci. Another one of Leonardo’s art pieces, and most famous in Western art is The Last Supper which is also painted on a wall in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. After learning the anatomy of the human body, Leonardo quickly became the master of topographic anatomy and sketched studies of the muscles, tendons and other visible anatomical features.

If you are a food lover then you should also be a lover of fine catering. The elegant dining experience is an experience that entices all five of your senses. The atmosphere along with the aroma and taste of world class food is an experience that anyone can enjoy.

The experience is totally dependent on your ability to choose and enjoy a fine dining establishment. If you are truly to enjoy and indulge in the fine dining experience, you should know the difference between bistros, buffets, cafes, cafeterias, coffeehouses, destination restaurants, ethnic places, and pubs. All of these can offer a different type of cuisine with a unique atmosphere. I would encourage anyone with an interest in food and quality to explore each of these types of establishment to fine tune your knowledge of fine dining to impress others as well as enrich yourself.

Astrology has a certain mystery surrounding it, and for most people that is the way they like it. Every morning you will find millions of people looking up their astrological horoscope to see what could happen to them. Some believe what is written, while for others it makes good reading. No matter what side of equation you are on, most will agree they have read at least one horoscope.

People have been fascinated by how someone can predict what will happen by the stars, planets, and their positioning as it relates to them. Sometimes these predictions are correct and that gives people incentive to read them even more. No matter what you believe most people are interested in astrology and that will not end anytime soon. As long as people want to know their future, astrology will have a place firmly in society.
